How do longer rental durations work?
- Alamo & National:
- Maximum of 56 days in a single rental period
Dollar:
- Florida: Maximum of 56 days in a single rental period
- Other US States / Canada: Maximum of 28 days in a single rental period
If you book a car for a longer period than above, this is permitted, but you will be required to return to any convenient depot at a point within your overall rental that would mean no single segment of the rental exceeds the maximum duration for the area in question.
Once you have placed your order, if you do not advise us otherwise, our supplier will choose a date and location. This can be amended if it is not suitable.
Can I obtain a Disabled Parking Permit in the USA?
If you have a foreign (i.e. NON USA) disabled parking permit then you can obtain a temporary parking permit once you arrive in the USA. The rental company will give you specific details when you collect your car, and usually involves a visit to the local issuing office.

Hand Controls for Disabled Drivers
If you book a car through our site, many of the vehicles can be fitted with hand controls either on the steering wheel.
When you place your order, use the notes field to specify your requirements. This will then be requested on your reservation. There is no extra charge for this.
Dollar
The following rental car types can be fitted with left or right-handed controls:
- Full Size
- Premium
- Luxury
- Convertible
- SUV / 4x4
All types of hire car (including those above plus Economy, Compact, 7, 8 and 12 seaters) can be fitted with steering balls or 'spinner knob' steering controls.
Alamo
Alamo can supply hand controls on most vehicles, although on the right-hand side only.
Do any cars have roof racks or tow-bars?
- None of the car rental suppliers allow the use of roof-racks or trailers, so no rental cars are supplied with a tow-bar or roof-rack.
